The mission of the journal Filosofija. Sociologija (Philosophy. Sociology, ISSN 0235-7186) is to develop philosophical and sociological thought, while taking into account the philosophical and sociological trends in Western countries.
Filosofija. Sociologija is a periodical scientific journal published since 1990 four times a year (3 times a year before 1995).
Chairs of the Editorial Board: J. Minkevičius (1990–1996), R. Grigas (1996–2003), A. V. Matulionis (since 2004).
Sociological issues of the journal (compiler and editorial secretary Sarmitė Mikulionienė) are compiled and published with a view to pooling Lithuanian researchers for the development of the impact of theoretical-methodological, social stratification, social welfare and demographic research results on Lithuanian social sciences, for the implementation of Lithuanian economic and social development strategic objectives, for society’s progress, and for overcoming short-term challenges to social, economic and demographic development that are faced in certain periods.
Philosophical issues of the journal (compiler and editorial secretary Tomas Kačerauskas) are aimed at developing the Lithuanian philosophical thought, pooling researchers of philosophical Lithuanian studies, as well as presenting and promoting the Lithuanian philosophical thought in foreign countries.
