During the XVII Conference of the Lithuanian Sociological Association, organized by the Sociology Institute of the Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences together with the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences on September 4–5, 2025, the annual awards were presented. The award for the best Master’s thesis in sociology was granted to Karolis Bareckas, a graduate of the Applied Sociology program at Vytautas Magnus University (VDU)!
The award was given for his thesis titled “‘What Drives You Away from Home?’: Experiences of Athletic Identity Construction Among Long-Distance Runners” (supervisor: Dr. Rasa Indriliūnaitė).
